Obituary of Rosalie "Rose" Ann McKerchie

Age 74 of Mt. Morris died Monday, July 6, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am, Thursday, July 9, 2015, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Genesee Twp. on Wednesday, from 1:00pm to 8:00pm. Wednesday evening, family, friends and parish will gather at 7:00 pm to pray the Rosary. On Thursday morning, Rose will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of Mass at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Rose was born July 21, 1940, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter and Cecelia (Stefanski) Jakiemiec. Growing up in Flint, Rose was educated locally, graduating in 1958 from Sacred Heart Catholic High School. She and Robert McKerchie were united in marriage on October 31, 1959, in Flint, Michigan. She worked for AC/Delphi retiring in 2002. Rose enjoyed spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren, traveling and going to the casino. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 55 years, Bob; six children, Tony and wife, Lisa McKerchie, Tom McKerchie, Tim and wife, Eva McKerchie, Terry and wife K-Lynn McKerchie, Tiffany and husband, Chris Brady, and Christina Elmer; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Wally and wife Sue Jakiemiec; sisters-in -law Judy Gilkes and Neva Rosa; special friends, Pat Peters and Carole Campbell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Maxine, Joanne, Cecelia, and great-granddaughter Kamryn McKerchie. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Danish and Staff.
