Obituary of Janet Sue Baker

Of Vassar, age 67, died Sunday, June 14, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends at Martin Funeral Home in Vassar on Monday, June 22, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Private burial will take place at a later date in Tuscola Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Wellspring Lutheran Services Hospice or SOS Animal Rescue. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Janet was born on January 1, 1948 in Alma, Michigan, to Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. and Virginia (Wells) Anderson. She attended Alma public schools until her family relocated to Vassar. She would graduate from Vassar in 1966. She and Robert Baker were united in marriage on April 9, 1966. Janet worked 26 years for the Vassar Public Schools as a bus driver and 20 years working at McDonald's in Vassar. She belonged to Tuscola County Search and Rescue, Vassar Eagles, and Vassar Ambulance. In her spare time Janet liked bowling, camping, wine tasting, gardening, and spending time with her cats. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, two children: Kim (Bradley) Jenks, Michael Baker (fiancé Ashley Nelson); three grandchildren: Brandon Corbit, Dylan Baker, and Sofii Baker. She was preceded in death by her parents.
