Obituary of Clarence Snyder

Of Mt. Morris, age 75, passed away, Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00am, Friday, May 22, 2009 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, with Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post # 158. Family will receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:00pm until 8:00pm. On Thursday evening, family, friends, and parish will gather to pray the Rosary at 6:00pm. Friday morning, Clarence will be taken to church where he will lie in state from 10:00am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mass Offering Cards, St. Mary School, or the IHM Mother House, Monroe, Michigan. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Clarence "Snick" was born May 18, 1934 in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence and Angeline (Stefanski) Snyder. He and Patricia Ann Herman were united in marriage February 9, 1957. Clarence worked for General Motors for 34 years before retiring in 1986. He was a member of The Eagles Arie #3485, Knights of Columbus, Holy Family Council #4285, Moose Lodge of Flushing #1437, The American Legion Post # 0151 and a UAW member. Clarence will always be remembered as the life of the party wherever he went. He loved to cook out on the grill, go camping in his "Scotty" and loved his beloved dog "Chi-Chi".
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia; three children; Jackie (Joe) McDermaid, Kim (Roy) Webber, Tom (Carole) Snyder; brother, Henry Snyder and special friend, Wally; five grandchildren, Tracy, Tim, Becky, Brody, Ryan, three great-grandchildren, Blake, Ava, Payton, several nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the ICU staff at McLaren Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
