Obituary of Jean Maxine Bain

Age 92, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, May 2, 2015. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Jean’s family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Tuesday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and Wednesday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Jean was born August 17, 1922, in Egypt, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John and Laura (Graham) Shomo. She married Robert Bain on November 24, 1945, in Hagerstown, Maryland. Sadly, Robert preceded her in death on October 31, 2003. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren, painting and making latch hook rugs. Jean was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary #342, and the 40&8 Auxiliary. Left to cherish her memory, three children: Harry “Troy” Bain, Allen and wife, Linda Bain and Susan Histed; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and seven siblings; Pearl Smith, Eleanor Trimble, Rose Gearhart, Edith Goon, Joann Pianelle, Joan Coble and Phyllis Whitman. Jean was preceded in death by her parents John and Laura (Graham) Shomo, husband Robert Bain and her two daughters Janice Bain and Beverly Buck and her sister Mildred Johnson.
