Obituary of Mary Ballard

Of Clio, formerly of Flint, age 91, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Maple Woods Manor in Clio. The memorial service will take place 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Genesee Township. Cremation has taken place. Pastor Steve Bentley will officiate. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am until time of service on Saturday at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Bridge Church or Church of Christ in Grand Blanc. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Mary was born July 10, 1923 in Ashland, Virginia the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Mary (Vitek) Pagac. She and Verle were united in marriage July 31, 1943 in Ashland, sadly he preceded her in death in 2012. She spent her days raising three children and keeping the house tidy in addition to babysitting for many of the families within the neighborhood. Mary enjoyed gardening, baking decorative cakes for family and friends, camping with her husband, and she was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Flint, where she stayed very involved with anything the church needed assistance with. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Verle Jr. and wife, Sue Ballard, Dale and wife, Linda Ballard, Patricia and husband, Dave Withey; eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters: Alice, Lilly, and Matilda; one brother, Frank; and a grandson, Keith Ballard.
