I many times sang to Eleanor while taking care of her and I remember one time specifically that I was singing "Old Rugged Cross" and she was nodding and say the last line, "and exchange it some day for a crown." It brought tears to my eyes and I prayed she would one day get her crown and I hope she has it now on top of a head full of braids.

I first of all want to thank you for sharing your Mother with me. I enjoyed braiding her beautiful white hair in the many different styles she tolerated me trying. Even when I would hit the "rat nests" as she would call them she would patiently let me make her pretty. Getting ready for BINGO several times a week I would tell her to have fun and win lots of games. Afterwards I would ask how many she won and most times she would say, "I won several," but when she didn't she would give me such a look of disgust like why they heck did you ask! She always was sure to ask, "Did you bring your boots?" when we would talk about going to Alaska where she intended to salmon fish. While I know she was not always pain free or comfortable when I needed to give care, I KNOW she knew I would do my best to get the job done as quickly as possible and make her comfortable once again.
