Obituary of Edna Mozelle Taylor

Age 81 of Genesee died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at home surrounded by her family. Funeral service will take place 1:00 pm Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:30 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Pastor Jeffery M. Switzer will officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Edna was born in Vinemont, Alabama, October 9, 1933, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Curtis and Arzelle (Oden) Norris. She and Jack Taylor were united in marriage on December 21, 1957, in Genesee, Michigan. Edna and Jack co-owned and operated Taylor Steel Company and Taylor Brother's Door Lock Company with their sons. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to and following her son's band, The Taylor Brother's, spoiling her grandchildren, shopping, playing bingo, and going to the casino. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years, Jack; two sons, Jack Roy Taylor and fiancée, Gabriel Suzanne Gabriel and Joseph Curtis and wife, Dana Marie Taylor; Five grandchildren, Kayla, Kerryn, Landen, Jack and AJ; brother, J.C. and wife, Faye Norris; sisters, Betty Foshee, Brenda and husband, Roger Elliott, and Pam and husband, Skeeter Collins; sisters-in-law, Flossie Norris and Kathy Norris and many nieces; nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Junior Norris and Keith Norris. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Edna's caregivers, Flossie, Joy, Angela, Michelle, Billie, Lucinda, Judi and Dr. Syed Sattar.
