My grandfather was a great man. He was an honorable father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved life, spending his time socializing with friends and the senior center, camping, and finding a bargain. Grandpa Ben loved to take pictures, visit Frankenmuth, and listen to concerts in the park. Although he was a private man, he was very loving and caring the type who would give his shirt off his back if you didn't have one. We will miss him, but will carry his legacy on in his loving memory. My mother (Evelyn) and I personally extend our condolences to his friends and family and have asked the Lord to surround you all in his loving embrace during these hard times. Special thanks go to his good friend, Roger Sims, and all of the caregivers of Avalon Hospice. We also would like to thank all of those who have sent their condolences to us. They are appreciated and are warming.

I can't believe 'Grandpa Ben' is gone! He was always so kind, thoughtful and friendly -- always a smile for everyone. When he was at our family dinners, he was so easy to talk to. I looked forward to chatting with him every time and was disappointed when he couldn't make it. My heart goes out to Evelyn and Robin and the family. Ev, you know he was so proud of his little girl! And what a great job he did raising you all on his own. Robin, I'm sure you know that you couldn't have asked for a better grandpa. We are all going to miss him. I wasn't related to him by blood, but he still felt like family to me ... Melanie
