Obituary of Geraldine I. Brabbs

Of Gladwin, formerly of Mt. Morris, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint. Mrs. Brabbs’ funeral service will take place 3:00pm, Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Jim Salo will officiate with cremation to follow. The family will be present to receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Saturday from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Sunday from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00pm. Geraldine was born January 12, 1933 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jens and Anna (Faulk) Anderson. She was raised in Sandusky. On July 10, 1953, she married the love of her life, Gerald Brabbs. Gerri’s career path would lead her to the Beecher School System, where she worked for over 14 years. She was a member of the Secord Lake Eagles, Aerie #4121, Gladwin, Michigan. In addition to loving her family, she also enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing pool, cards and Bingo. She loved up north, especially camping and boating, and, although she was known to be a social butterfly, she was also a bit stubborn at times. She will be greatly missed. Left to cherish her memory are three children, Gail and husband Danny Reeves,Sharon and husband Mark Callahan and Karon and husband James Husocki, Jr., five grandchildren, Jennifer Reeves, Kevin Reeves (Kelli Edson), Marcus Callahan, Matthew “Bubba” Callahan (Rachel Bolker) and Chase Husocki, a great grandson, Donte Reeves, twin sister, Erdeen Cooper, special niece, Terrylynn Hansen and many friends in Gladwin. Gerri was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gerald “Jerry.”
