Obituary of Ella Mae Mitchell

Of Mt. Morris age 92 died Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at home. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Genesee Township, with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery in North Branch. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Memorial donations may be directed to the Genesee County Humane Society. Ella was born July 27, 1922, in Dot, Texas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max and Martha (Jaster) Behnke. She and Andrew Mitchell were united in marriage on October 28, 1944. Ella worked as a baker for the Westwood Height School District. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, crocheting and crossword puzzles. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Martha Sanchez, Joseph and wife, Dolores Mitchell, and Mark and wife, Pam Mitchell; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. Roland and wife, Wanda Behnke and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Andy; The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Medical Team Hospice Staff and the American House Staff for the wonderful care given to Ella.
