Obituary of Roy Burns Jr.

Age 75 of Flint died Tuesday, December 17, 2014, at home surrounded by his family. Funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Friday, December 19, 2014, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Burial will be held at Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services on Thursday, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Friday, from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Roy was born July 2, 1939, in Vassar, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sr. and Lena Violet (Hanks) Burns. Roy proudly served his country in the United State Army. He worked for General Motors at Chevy in the Hole for 34 years, until his retirement. Roy enjoyed woodworking, riding his Harley, camping, hunting, fishing and eating out. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Paula; children, Patricia and husband, Wesley Ross, April Kulaszewski, Leisa and husband, Pete Miller, Phillip and wife, Tarah Bishop, and Danny and wife, Jenni Burns; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald and wife, Delores Burns and Ronald and wife, Bobbi Burns; sisters, Connie Clapp, Sheila Nagel and Joyce Hurtado; and several nieces; nephews and friends. He was preceded in parents; daughter, Brenda Moore and brother, Carl Burns. The family would like to thank Home Hospice Advantage and McLaren Pulmonary Rehab for the care given to Roy.
