Obituary of Elba "CARL" Ostrander

Elba “CARL” Ostrander, age 51, of Mt. Morris, died Friday, November 14, 2014, at Hurley Medical Center of Flint. The funeral service will take place 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 20, 2014, at the Martin Funeral Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Carl’s family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 am until time of service at 2:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Elba “Carl” was born April 3, 1963, in Flint, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Elba “DALE” and Maxine (Brimmer) Ostrander. Sadly his mother has preceded him in death on February 10, 2010. Carl graduated from Mt. Morris High School, Class of 1981. Carl worked for several different Kroger locations throughout the Flint area. Carl was a former member of the Mt. Morris Lions Club. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, bowling with ABC Bowling League, rock collecting, watching M*A*S*H, Matlock and John Wayne movies and traveling to Canada and to Berlin, Germany. Left to cherish his memory; daughter, Courtney Ostrander and Augustus Spooner; stepchildren, Nicholas and Nicole Lake; father, Elba Ostrander; two siblings; Larry Ostrander and friend Debbie DeCoe, Arlene and husband, Mark Furden; and many other family members and friends. Elba was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine, and his fiancée, Carol (Sovis) Lake.
