Obituary of Bernice L. Jackson

Of Clio, age 94, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Frankenmuth. A private graveside service will take place at Flint Memorial Park. Deacon Vic DiBerardino will officiate cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Beauty Shop Fund at Wellspring Lutheran Services. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Bernice was born October 13, 1920, in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred and Jeanette (Moore) LaPan. She worked for AC Spark Plug for eight years in Flint before moving to California where she obtained a position with TORO Corporation within one of their assembly factories, which she held for 13 years. In her youth she was baptized at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Pinconning, Michigan. She had always enjoyed camping, traveling, playing bingo, and taking trips to the casino. Left to cherish her memory are four granddaughters, Kristen and husband, Brian Roth, Bernice Jackson, Becky Peterson and husband, Ed Edwards, Jeanna and husband Dave Walker; and nine great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Fred Jackson; granddaughter Jewley Jackson; and three sisters, Virginia, Leona and Valena and her brother, Sam.
