Obituary of Alice Elizabeth Grigar

Age 76, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint. Mass of Christian burial will take place 11:00 am, Friday, October 24, 2014 at Saints Charles and Helena Church in Clio. Rev. Fr. Bob McGraw will officiate. Alice's family will be present at the Martin Funeral, Cremation and Tribute Services in Mt. Morris on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Friday morning, Alice will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Ss. Charles and Helena food pantry. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Alice was born May 25, 1938, in Alma, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert and Ruth (Bush) Wagner. She graduated from Alma High School with the Class of 1956. On June 18, 1960, Alice and Donald E. Grigar were united in Alma. They moved here to Clio in 1960 were Alice would work as the city clerk. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Alice was a hardworking and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many. Left to cherish her memory are: three sons; Glen W. and wife, Kathy Grigar, Donnie T. and wife, Debbie Grigar, and Todd J. Grigar and partner Denny, one sister; Mary Hill, five grandchildren; Jason Dowd, Ryan Dowd, Jordon Grigar, Nicole Groh, and Sarah Pastor, two great-grandchildren; Connor Grigar, and Even Grigar. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, brother; Lee Wagner, sister; Shirley Kopulos, son; Michael Eugene Grigar, and granddaughter; Ashly Grigar.
