Obituary of Mary Sue Whitten

Age 78, of Mt. Morris, died Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Briar Wood in Flint. Funeral Service will take place 1:00 pm, Monday, October 6, 2014, at Martin Funeral, Cremation, and Tribute Services. Pastor David Burkett will officiate. Mary's family will be present at the Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, and on Monday, 12 noon until time of service. Following the service Mary will be taken to Flint Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Whitten family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Mary was born August 24, 1936, in Manilla, Arkansas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Colon and Ethel (Southard) Gentry. She earned her degree from Swartz Creek. Mary and John Whitten were united in marriage on April 28, 1970. Mary belonged to the VFW 3720 in Swartz Creek and FOE 3609 in Clio. She loved to play bingo and going to yard sales. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother. Left to cherish her memory are: Son, Bruce Henderson and Fiancé Lisa Eneix, brother; Carl Gentry, five grand children; Steven Henderson, Jessica Henderson, Stacey Hutchinson, Sarah Ryan, and Jeremy Henderson, seven great-grand children. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters, two sons; Kenneth Henderson and Craig Henderson.
