Obituary of Irene M. Boom

Age 90, of Flint died Saturday, July 5, 2014, at McLaren-Flint. The funeral will take place 1:00 pm Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services with Rev. Dr. Janet Enlger officiating with burial to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm then on Thursday from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Irene was born November 6, 1923, in New Hampshire. She is the daughter of the late Leonard and Matilda (Bacon) Heath. She married and Harold Boom were married on August 9, 1947. Irene worked as a Sign Language Interpreter for 19 years. In her free time she enjoyed painting, sewing, watching soap operas, spending time with her family and dog Sassy. Left to cherish her memory are son, Clarence and wife, Joyce Alicia Boom; their children, Brandon and fiancé, Britany, Teresa and fiancé, Billy, Kelli and husband, Jason, Kayla and husband, Steve and David; daughter, Loretta Heath and her children, Gerald and fiancé, Tory, Tammy and husband, John and Bill and wife, Vickie; daughter, Donna and her children, Charles and wife, Cary, Brian, and Patrick and wife, Lindsey; other grandchildren, Robin, Jennifer and Kimberly; extended family, Dawn and Rick Winslow and their children, Kristy and Rick Jr.; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; son, Larry; brothers, Dwayne and Gerald and sister, Virginia.
