Obituary of Maritta Jane Petroskey

Age 76, of Clio, formerly of Mt. Morris, died Thursday, June 26, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at MediLodge in Montrose.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am on Monday, June 30, 2014, at St. Charles and Helena Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Bob McGraw will officiate, with cremation to follow. Family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services on Saturday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Sunday, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Sunday evening, parish, family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 6:00 pm for a Scripture Service. On Monday morning, Maritta will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be directed to the family for a gift to be given to MediLodge in Maritta's honor.
Maritta was born October 25, 1937, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Charles and Philomena (Pindur) McNamara. Raised in Mt. Morris by her mother and step-father, Tom Bowles, Maritta attended St. Mary Catholic School, graduating in 1955. She married James D. Petroskey on November 8, 1958, at St. Mary Mt. Morris. Maritta worked for Tri-Pointe Credit Union, until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and traveling.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 55 years, Jim; three daughters, Julianne and husband, Ken Ruhstorfer Kelley Petroskey and Caroline Badr; six grandchildren, Patrick and wife, Cassie Fergerson, Matthew and wife, Casey Fergerson, Andrew Fergerson, Aynsley Fergerson, Paul Badr and Alex Badr; great-grandson, Isaac Fergerson; sisters, Paula and husband John Sivulka and Mary and husband, John Claya; and many dear in-laws; nieces; nephews, friends and her special friend, Janet Seeley and long time friend, Bill Wall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis and Tom Bowles and Charles McNamara and son-in-law, Wajdi Badr.
