Obituary of David L. Dickerson

Of Burton, age 61, died Monday, March 22, 2010 at his home. The funeral service will take place, Friday, March 26, 2010 at Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. Pastor Lyle Ohman will officiate with burial to follow in Rich Cemetery. Family will be present to receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home on Thursday 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Family Fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. David was born June 6, 1948 in Millington, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd and Madeline (White) Dickerson. David earned his Doctorate Degree in Psychiatry at Central Michigan University. He worked his entire life in psychology and psychiatry in Genesee, Saginaw and Lapeer Counties. He was an outstanding athlete in his younger days and continued to enjoy sports, especially watching the Detroit Pistons and Detroit Tigers. Surviving are his daughter, Nicole Dickerson of Saginaw; mother, Madeline Dickerson of Vassar; siblings, Beverly Hutchinson of Vassar, Lyle and wife Sharon Palaghe of Saginaw, Norma and husband Robert Farnham of Vassar and Raymond and wife Linda Dickerson of Brighton; special friends, Tara Buckley and Hoa Dickerson; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; his dog and friend Chloe. David was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Dickerson. Friends may share a memory with the family at the funeral home.
