Obituary of Esther Esckelson

Of Vassar, age 85, died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at her daughterAaas house. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Monday, April 5, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Vassar. Rev. David Somers will officiate with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and Saturday from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. On Monday, Esther will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church of Vassar. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Hettie was born February 22, 1925 in Lincoln, England the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Florence (Foster) Curtis. She and Lawrence Esckelson were united in marriage July 28, 1945 in England. Hettie was sweet, giving, and loved her family dearly. She will be greatly missed. Hettie leaves to cherish her memory her children, Linda and husband, Bruce Stockwell, Carol and husband, John Warian, Pam and husband, Steve Radick, David and friend, Penny; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and very special friend, Bonnie Seney. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Lawrence; five infant children; brother, Fred; grandson, Corporal Christopher Esckelson.
