Dear Baker family,\
We were very sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing. She was a very special lady. We lived next door to her from 1989-1992, and she was another grandma to our children. Some of our fondest memories are of her and Tiffy, her dog, allowing our kids and dogs to come over and play. She always had cookies for the kids and the dogs. She always had kind and considerate words for everybody. She encouraged everybody. She was sweet and kind. We would stop by and visit her every time we came through Flint on leave from the Army. She always had an open door and open arms. We will miss her.

Dorthy came into my life about 20 years ago. I would go up to McDonalds in Genesee for the senior bingo and Dorthy would take a few of my fries ,so I just started to always put a few fries on a napkin beside her and she would get the biggest smile on her face and then she would have to give me a hug ! I will miss that smile & her hug but I know that she is resting in the arms of Jesus giving Him that smile & that hug. Dorthy I bet the fries are awesome in Heaven!!!!\

Mrs Baker was a strong role model for all of the young students in Genesee. She was much ahead of her time in her capacity to perform her duties as teacher and principal. She expected honesty and integrity from her students and we were fortunate to have her support. She had an inner strength that made you feel that you could accomplish most anything if you wanted. The last time I spoke with her- she could not remember me- but yes I remember her!

Dear Jay, Dale, and Families, I hope you are doing well, I am sorry for your loss. She was an extraordinary person. I always enjoyed being around Dorothy, she was much like my mother and she always gave me that "feeling at home" sensation. Whether she was winning money from me on bets or asking me to keep an eye on her son Jay, she was wonderful and fun. I admire and respect her, and I miss her. Barney

Dear Dale, Dianne, and Family. We wish we were there to tell you in person how much we regret the loss of your mother and grandmother. We know that you have many wonderful memories to hold onto during this time- her smile, laugh, idiosyncratic comments, and other things that made her so special; yet there is nothing that can replace having her in person. We grieve with you, hoping that it comforts you a bit. \
Lots of love, Lance and Helen Erickson

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Mrs. Baker was such an inspiration to me all through my years at Genesee. She was always there with a kind word, even a hug when it was needed.

So sorry to hear that Mrs. Baker is gone. She was not just our principal, she was our friend, mentor and sometimes a surrogate parent. She touched so many lives.\
She will be greatly missed.\
