Obituary of Eleanor Lois Mark

Of Flint, age 80, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Debbie Line will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. EleanorAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and on Friday, from 10:00am until 2:00pm, and again from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the National Kidney Foundation or to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Eleanor was born June 24, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Eleanor (Fahey) Atkinson. She and Alexander Mark were united in marriage November 10, 1960. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2009. She worked for AC Spark Plug for 35 years before retiring and was a member of AC Local #651 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #629. Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family, loved shopping, horse racing and watching TV. Eleanor leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Connie Palmer and husband, John Hemingway and Cathy and husband, Jim Ricketts; two grandchildren, Travis and Miranda Ricketts; one sister, Rosemary Borden; "adopted granddaughter" Becky; and brother-in-law and sisters in-law; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; many in-laws, and loving husband of 48 years, Alexander. The family would like to extend a thank you to the current and former staff at RCC Dialysis Center on Beecher Rd., the nursing staff at both McLaren and Genesys , the staff at Grand Blanc Rehabilitation Center, and to her team of doctors; Dr. Hennig, Dr. Mirchandani, Dr. Taki, Dr. Hannah, and Michigan Vascular Associates. A special thank you to Dr. Asif Ishaque and his staff for their care and support to Eleanor and her family.
