Obituary of Jean Ann Burdis

Of Clio, age 62, died Sunday, June 28, 2009 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00am, Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. JeanAaas family will be present to receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and Tuesday from 11:00am to 8:00pm. On Tuesday evening, family and friends will gather at the funeral home for a Eulogy in JeanAaas honor at 6:00pm. On Wednesday morning, she will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Catholic Social Services, Water Relief Funds in Africa. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Jean was born January 18, 1947 in Leamington, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Omeda VanLanduyt and Lorena Dunn. She and David Burdis were united in marriage August 12, 1967 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Jean was the 67th District Court, Assignment Clerk Manager of Genesee County for many years prior to her retirement in 1999. She was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris and volunteered at their bingos for many years and was a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack #107.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, David F. Burdis, son, David Burdis, Jr., daughter, Lisa and husband Chad Fuller, four grandchildren; Ashley, Shawn, Bridgette and Hali, stepmother, Elizabeth Culver, brothers and sisters; James VanLanduyt, Rose and husband Scott Gray, Sandy and husband Lynn Geren, Anthony Crump, Janice and husband Al Smith, Mark VanLanduyt, Cozette Crump, and Dormalee and husband Scott, lifelong and dear friends; DeEtta Crane and Jan and Phil Whitehouse, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Vic Morris and a niece, Janice Marie Colombo.
