Of Flint, age 89, died Monday, June 28, 2010 at his adopted granddaughterAaas home. The funeral service will take place 12:00noon, Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Gary McInnis will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm, on Thursday from 10:00am until 2:00pm and 4:00pm until 9:00pm, and on Friday from 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00noon. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Boystown, American Cancer Society and the VA National Home. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. William was born May 21, 1921 in Mansfield, Ohio the son of Mr. and Mrs. William and Nora (Falvey) Meadows. He and Mary Doris Blair were united in marriage on July 16, 1944. William served in the United States Coast Guard in World War II for four years, as the shipAaas cook first class, with sea duties in the North Atlantic and South Pacific. He was affiliated with VFW Post #3087 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Owosso. He retired from Chevrolet Assembly after 30 years. William leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Rebecca; two granddaughters, Kelly, and Kimberly and husband, John; two adopted granddaughters, Lisa and Laura and husband, David; adopted daughter, Sandy; one grandpuppy, Montana; and five grandkitties, Boots, Leo, Gilbert, Thomas, and Puss; two sisters-in-law, Rita and Thelma; brothers-in-law, Fred and Al; special friends, Janet Hyde and Doug Lyle; and many nieces, nephews, friends and adopted grandpuppies, Annabelle, Emma, Suki, Willow and Hannah. William was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 63 years, Mary (Blair); sister, Nora; mother-in-law, Al and husband Bill Blair; sister-in-law, Betty and husband Rex; sister-in-law, Ann; adopted daughter, Edith and husband, Jack Byrd; grandpuppies, Stephanie, Tiffany, Pepi, Wooly; and grandferrets, Emmett, Emily, Boosie, Xander, Sebastian, Stewie, and Erin-Rebecca.
