Obituary of Hester Marie Smith

Of Mt Morris, age 88, died Saturday, July 4, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 1:00pm, Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Steve Windle will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. HesterAaas family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 10:00am until 8:00pm, and on Wednesday, from 9:00am until time of service at 1:00pm. Hester was born May 25, 1921 in Nixon, Tennessee the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis and Lillie (Worley) Hindman. She and Hobert Smith were united in marriage May 28, 1955. He preceded her in death on May 28, 1990. Hester worked for Terndstedt, retiring in 1974. She was also a UAW member. Hester leaves to cherish her memory four children, Margaret and husband, Allie Watson, James and wife, Barbara Shaver; Jerry and wife, Debbie Smith, and Denice Smith; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert; grandson, Jimmie Paul; sister, Inez Brewington; and two brothers, Marvin and Harden.
