Obituary of Arthur Gugel

Of Vassar, age 75, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville. Pastor Wesley Gillaspie will officiate with burial to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on August 27, 2010 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the St. Michael's Lutheran Church or charity of choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Arthur was born June 29, 1935 in Frankenmuth, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore and Erna (Nuechterlein) Gugel. He and Marian Miller were united in marriage June 30, 1956. Arthur was a member of the Lutheran Laymans League, was a past elder and usher for his church, enjoyed his grandchildren, watching the Tigers, fishing, and playing cards. Arthur leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 54 years, Marian; children, Pamela and husband, Robert Hahn and Kenneth and wife, Colleen Gugel; four grandchildren, Heather, Brady, and twins, Connor, and Griffin; sister, Dorothy and husband, Rev. Art Kringel; brother, Martin and wife, Laureen Gugel; and sister-in-law, Ruth Gugel. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold Gugel.
