Obituary of Robert Bob Heit

Age 78, of Chesaning, formerly of Clio, died Monday, January 20, 2014, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am, Friday, January 24, 2014, at St. Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Rev. Fr. Bob McGraw will officiate. Cremation has taken place per Bob's wishes. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Friday, family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Bob was born June 25, 1935, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Gladys (Brougton) Heit. Bob worked for 38 years at AC Spark Plug, until his retirement. He was a member of the UAW #651 and the Masonic Lodge F & AM 454. He was also a longtime member of St. Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. In his free time he enjoyed wood carving, collecting radios, fishing and hunting. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Marlene; seven children, Bryant and wife, Dorothy Heit, Michael and wife, Cindy Heit, Anthony and wife, Nancy Heit, Mary Powell, Teresa and husband, Pete Bell, Ann Kitchen, and Joseph and wife, Heather Heit; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; mother, Gladys Heit; 1 Brother; 1 sister; and many nieces; nephews; and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; daughter, Jill Heit; and son, Timothy Heit.
