Obituary of Jack Diamond

Age 94, of Flint died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at his home in Flint. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services, with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Jack's family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Thursday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday, from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Heartland Hospice or to Burton Senior Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Jack was born November 3, 1919, in Holly, Michigan the son of Mr. & Mrs. Harry and Jenni Diamond. He married Violet Rose Martin in Flint, Michigan, on March 31, 1945. Sadly she preceded him in death on December 22, 1970. He retired from Flint Metal Fab in 1974, and was a business man owning several businesses throughout his years which included a coney island restaurant, the "Jack of Diamond's " lounge. Which now is the Eagles Club on Clio rd. The "little" party store in Burton, a donut shop in Clio and a party store in Mt Morris and has had multiple rental houses for over 60 years. Jack enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, attending activities at the Burton Senior Center and tending to his yard and flowers. Left to cherish his memory are, two children, daughter, Mary and husband, Jere Forsythe and son, Franklin Diamond; three grandchildren, Tracey Arseneau and Rick Parkinson, John and wife, Tracy Willey and Jeffrey and wife, Tina Willey; five great-grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Jade, Jaylee and Tyler; sister, Mary Jane Johnston and many other family members and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Violet and three brothers. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Heartland Hospice and the Burton Senior Center for all their love and care.
