Obituary of Thomas Yachovitz

Of Sault Ste. Marie, age 83, died Saturday, October 2, 2010 at War Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will take place 2:00pm, Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with military honors. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 7, 2010, from 12:00noon until the time of service at 2:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Thomas was born February 15, 1927 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas and Helen (Metz) Yachovitz. He and Lena Anderson were united in marriage June 16, 1962.
Tom leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Barbara Kieffer, Richard and wife, Joyce Scully, and Penny and husband, Dave Clark; nine grandchildren, Diane, Buddy, Christopher, Michael, Dawn, Matt, Steve, Lisa, and Corey; many, many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary, Nellie, and Dolly; one brother, Stanley; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 31 years, Lena; and eight siblings.
