Obituary of Flora Mae Gerrard

Of Mt. Morris, age 78, died Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. The funeral service will take place, 11:00am, Wednesday October 13, 2010 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Tuesday from 12:00pm to 3:00pm and 5:00pm to 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Brethren Church in Christ. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Flora was born September 6, 1932 in Otisville, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred and Flossie (Stover) Teachout. She and Walter Gerrard were united in marriage February 11, 1961. Flora was an active member of the United Brethren Church of Christ in Mt. Morris. She enjoyed spending every day with her sister, attending family dinners and events, and going places with her friends. Flora leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Mildred Cravens, of Dearborn Heights, and Mary Lou Papp, of Mt. Morris, sister-in-law, Betty Teachout,of Spring Arbor, five nieces, Rosemary Allard, Nancy Wares, Carolyn Prebbles, Sharon Papp, and Joan Couture, and their families, nephews, Robert Yorton, David Teachout and Eric Teachout and their families, and special friends Patricia Campbel and Nancy Webber. She will be greatly missed by all of her family, especially her great nieces and nephews and great-great niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter, and two brothers, Hildred and Foster Teachout.
