Obituary of Milton Leroy Schmitt

age 66 of Fairgrove died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Caro Community Hospital. Milton was born February 21, 1944 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob and Ferndale (Yax) Schmitt. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Milton and Bonnie Austin were united in marriage on March 16, 1968 in Gilford. He worked for Cardet Containers as a welder. Milton enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and yard work.
Milton leaves to cherish his memory his wife Bonnie, three children; Milton Schmitt Jr. and Jennifer Hutchinson, Michael Schmitt, and Melissa Sommerfield, two grandchildren, Travis and Sarah Sommerfield, two sisters, Janet Guthrie, Jackie and husband Doyle Bradley, Two brothers, Marvin Schmitt , and Cecil and wife Barb Schmitt, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will take place, Thursday December 9, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Martin Funeral Home in Fairgrove, Mr. Craig Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery with graveside military honors. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Thursday morning from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am.
