We have so many memories of this wonderful man!! We met Phil in 1971 when we became their new neighbors...a young couple just married and starting a life together. Jim raced at Auto City in the early '70, all he had to do is ask Phil to help and he was in the pits with him every week! Jim could always count on Phil to be there for everything. I remember the year we went to Vegas the first time....we went with Phil and Anne. Phil and I sat in the 'Slots of Fun' and drank 99 cent Margaritas and watch the race on TV while Jim and Anne were out walking the strip. We had so much fun...I will cherish that memory forever. \
Phil always made everyone fell special and made you feel like he was so happy to see you. At Auto City we always knew were to look for him...at the bottom of the bleacher on turn one or at the picnic table next to the bar!! Phil has been a part of our family from the day we moved in next to to him. We will miss him and our lives will always have a missing piece, but we know he will be looking down at all of us, smiling and still enjoying the races.

Wishing you all strength and love in your time of need and remembrance. I loved Uncle Phil very much and missed seeing him since I have been out here in WA. He was a great guy and I always admired his humor and warmth. He will be missed very much.

My father, where do I begin? From the first time I remember until now I was daddyAaas girl until Beth was older then we both were. I will always remember the days we would take off in his truck (one of the many he owned) and tell mom we had to go to the store, but in fact we went to one of the local bars, he bought me a coke and pickled bologna and crackers if I promised not to tell mom. I went fishing and hunting with dad and we had lots of stories about our trips. Usually it was how I AaA"got the killAaA it was true for the most part but there was always a catch. Dad dropped out of school back in the day but he was determined to get a high school diploma, which he did before I did, I remember helping with his math homework and how proud he was when he graduated. One thing about dad he made ever one feel like they were number one it what ever they did. I remember the tears in his eyes when they found me when I was hiding in the closet for several hours, I only came out because I saw the police lights and dad by the police car, I thought something was wrong with him so I ran downstairs and out to see what was going on. I also remember the look in his eyes when the dr. said it was a good thing he took me into the hosp. when he did because my appendix had burst. I remember the day I left for the Army he had tears in his eyes but he assured me they were tears of joy because he was so proud of me. My dad was very brave and loved everyone he was my hero. I will never forget our trip to Germany. We were the only ones interested in visiting his heritage place; we had a great time until Uncle Bob and I thought dad was lost and only had 10min. to catch the train back to Stuttgart. I didnAaat want to leave without him but uncle Bob said we had to go back to the train station and low and behold there was dad standing and the gate wondering where we had been, I really thought he had too much to drink to find his way back to the station but I was wrong. He had a great time dancing on the table in the HB tent with the beautiful Australian young girls. So many memories! I WILL CHERISH FOREVER I WILL MISS YOU DAD I LOVE YOU!! Your#1 dtr.
