Obituary of Robert L. Serven

Of Mt. Morris, age 53, died Monday, December 13, 2010 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm and then on Thursday from 9:00am until the time of service at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the family fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Robert was born April 27, 1957 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Franis and Rose (Holloway) Serven. He and Virginia Marshall were united in marriage August 20, 1999. Rob loved the outdoors, his children, and his granddaughter. He was an expert in hunting and always willing to teach anyone who was willing to learn; he will be greatly missed. Rob leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 11 years, and best friend, Virginia; children, Katie and husband, Dan Rachar, Jessica Serven, Scott and wife, Becky Eickholt, and Adam Eickholt; one granddaughter, Evelyn Eickholt; brother, Richard and wife, Helene Serven; sister, Janet Burton; and many other family members, including nieces, nephews, friends, and faithful dog, Gypsy. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Peggy Serven.
