Obituary of Dorothy Elva Allen

Of Flint, age 96, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 25, 2009. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 2:00pm, Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Flint. Rev. Fr. John Flynn will officiate with burial to follow in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery. DorothyAaas family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 3-5pm and 7-9pm and Tuesday from 1-2pm at church. On Monday evening, a Rosary will be prayed at 7:00pm. Memorial donations may be directed to BrianAaas House. Dorothy was born August 30, 1912 in Flint the daughter of Edward and Mary Jane Purcell. She and Neil Allen were united in marriage in 1941. She was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Matthew Catholic Church for many years. She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory: niece, Dorothy Lyons (David) and nephew, Charles Rickard (Janet) and several other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Neil, in 1999, two sisters, Helen Rickard and Lena Hughes.
