Of Vassar, age 99, died Friday, January 7, 2011 at Covenant Cooper in Saginaw. The funeral service will take place, 11:00am Monday, January 10, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Vassar. Rev. David Somers will officiate with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar on Sunday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. On Monday Leota will be taken to church where she will lie in state from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Memoorial donations may be considered to the Gideons. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Leota was born March 19, 1911 in Vassar, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Florence (Picket) Parry. She and Gordon Glazier were united in marriage on June 4, 1938 at the First Baptist Church of Vassar. Leota was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Vassar, where she taught Sunday school for over 40 years and volunteered in many other capacities.
Leota leaves to cherish her memory, her son Paul Glazier and fiance Angie Smith, two, grandchildren, Aaron Brown and Miranda Smith, and two great-grandchildren, Ethan Smith and Teagan Fuller, special niece Barb and husband Allen Childs, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, daughter Ann Glazier, and many brothers and sisters.
