CLARENCE W. "Casey" MUELLER
Of Vassar, age 83, died Saturday, January 22, 2011 at St. Marys Hospital. A Memorial Service will take place, 11:00 am Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Saginaw. Pastor Mark Loest will officiate. Family will be present at the church to receive friends 10:30 am until time of the service. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Frankentrost or American Legion Post #229. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Clarence was born April 4, 1927 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Margaret (Hartman) Mueller. He and Jessie E. Mueller were united in marriage July 1, 1992 in Angola, Indiana. He retired from Michigan Department of Transportation after 42 years of service. Clarence was a life long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He served his country as a Sargent in the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #229 in Frankentrost and Korean War Veteran #251.
Clarence was an avid hunter, enjoyed bowling and played baseball in his younger years. He was a devoted Detroit Tiger fan. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Clarence will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving is his wife Jessie Mueller of Vassar; step son Richard and wife Susan Roth of Walled Lake; sister, Linda and husband Otto Bierlein of Gladwin; sisters-in-law Lillian Mueller, JoAnn Pierce, Virginia Pierce, Margery O'Neil, Kathleen and husband Don Asher; brothers-in-law John Haines and Jim Pierce and many nieces and nephews including special niece, Susan Auernhammer.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Margaret (Hartman)Mueller, sister, Esther Haines, brother, Albert Mueller, brothers-in-law, William Pierce, Thomas Pierce, Terry O'Neil, Sister-in-law Lavone Pierce.
