Obituary of Robert W. Jones

Of Millington, previously of Flint, age 73, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Cremation has taken place. The memorial service will take place 11:00am, Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Dave Johnson will officiate. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 29, 2011 from 9:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Robert was born May 31, 1937 in Kimball, Nebraska the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Lucille (Pennybaker) Jones. He and Joyce Fiedler were united in marriage January 14, 1967 in Flint. He worked for GM for 33 years before he retired in 1989. Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 44 years, Joyce; three children, Robin and husband, Keith Brock, Lawrence "Bill" Jones, and Wendy and husband, Matt Scarbrough; eleven grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; sister, Jacqulyn Mawhorter; lifelong friends, Jerry and wife, Ruth Rice; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
