Obituary of Shirley Mae Derengowski

Loving mother, passed away into the garden of Heaven, to tend to the flowers she loves, and no longer suffers from the pain of the last six years. She will be with her son, Jeffery, who passed on before his time. Shirley will be missed so much by her loving husband of 62 years, Richard. The funeral service will take place 2:00pm, Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris with cremation to follow. ShirleyAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00pm until 8:00pm and Tuesday from 1:00pm until the time of the service at 2:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the charity of choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Shirley was born September 13, 1931 in Flint, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Cleo (Fergeson) Badgley. She and Richard Derengowski were high school sweethearts who started dating in 9th grade and were united in marriage October 1, 1949 in Flint. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed growing and tending to her flowers, stained glass, ceramics, painting, making porcelain dolls, knitting, spending time with her family, planning their family get-to-gethers and traveling up north to Lake Leelanau and Traverse City.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard, children; Rick and Karrie Derengowski, Terry Derengowski, Denise Dillon, Bob Derengowski, Lisa and Glenn Smith ; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery parents, and sister, Beverly.
