Obituary of Barbara Sanders

Of Vassar, age 68, died Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Medowlodge of Sterling. The funeral service will take place 12:00noon, Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Vassar. Rev. Herb Smith will officiate with burial to follow in Millington Twp. Cemetery. BarbaraAaas family will be present at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar to receive friends from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. On Thursday, Barbara will be taken to church to lie in state from 11:00am until time of service at 12:00noon. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Barbara was born October 22, 1942 in Millington, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond and Elsie (Summerfield) Sanders. She worked at Mayville Molding until 1980. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, knit, crocheting, painting by numbers and traveling. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, mother, Elsie Sanders, four siblings; Bob (Rita) Sanders, David (Sue) Sanders, Dick (Diane) Sanders, Elsie Sanders, sister-in-law, Ruby Sanders, several nieces, nephews and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her grandparents, August and Sarah Summerfield, father, Raymond Sanders, brother, Larry Sanders.
