Obituary of John Clifford McCloy

John Clifford McCloy, also known as "Cliff" and "Weasel", age 78, died at home in Bradenton, Florida March 3, 2011. Cliff was born in Fairgrove and had a long career as a journeyman electrician with Saginaw Steering Gear. In 1985, he retired to Florida with his wife Grace.
Cliff served his country in the Air Force in Germany and England as a radioman. Cliff was a member of the VFW, the Eagles, and Moose. He also participated in Eastern Star, Royal Arch and Blue Lodge Masons activities as well as the Scottish Rite, earning the 32nd Degree.
Euchre and Pool were favorite games of Cliff's, as was fishing with the grand kids.
Cliff is survived by his wife of 26 years; two children, Maureen McCloy Sherd and Darryl (Joan) McCLoy. Also surviving is his sister, Doris (Paul) Nagy of Vassar; his stepdaughters, Lynn (Mike) Ohman, and Susan Griffiths of Saint Charles and Saginaw; and the mother of his children, Nancy McCloy. Cliff has six grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) Pierce, Bryan (Heather) McCloy Sherd, Kristoffer (Tiffany) McCloy-Sherd, Calvin (Heather) McCloy, John Martin McCloy and Rochelle Ohman. Cliff has eighteen grandchildren, with one predeceased, Logan Ohman.
Also predeceasing Cliff were siblings Jean Nagy and her husband Ray, Gernith Ackley and husband Ray, Nancy Ruppert and husband Mac, Charles E McCloy and wife Florence, nephew, Charles "Butch" Mccloy and a baby sister.
Family will receive friends at 10:30 am June 6, 2011 at Martin Funeral Home, in Fairgrove with a VFW service at 11:30, and a luncheon to follow. Pursuant to his wishes, John C. McCloy's body was cremated and his ashes will be buried privately in Brookside Cemetery, in Fairgrove, Michigan, with graveside military honors.
