Obituary of Harry Taylor

Of Mio, formerly of Vassar, age 74, died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at HPH Hospice, in Dade City, Florida. The funeral service will take place 1:00pm, Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the Martin Funeral Home-Vassar. Pastor Roger Hazen will officiate with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar on Tuesday from 1:30pm to 8:00pm and on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until time of service at 1:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the HPH Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Harry was born January 29, 1937 in Mayville, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Faye (Smith) Taylor. He and Mary K. Szagesh were united in marriage May 1, 1954. Harry worked for Buick for 25 years, retiring May 1, 1992. Left to cherish his memory are his four children, Richard and wife, Susan Taylor of Mio, Shirley and husband, Dan Doyle of Florida, Tom and wife, Laura Taylor of Carrollton, and Vickie and husband, Bob Acha of Florida; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 51 years, Mary, who died on October 3, 2005; son, Harry "Mick" Taylor Jr.; three sisters; two brothers; and his beloved dog, Duke.
