Of Genesee, age 82, was reunited in Heaven with his wife, Bonnie, on Friday, May 13, 2011. He had been a resident of the Lutheran Home-Frankenmuth for the past three and a half years. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Nephew, Pastor Floyd Vieth will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will be present to receive friends on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm and then from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the Genesee High School Library Memorial Fund, where he and all six of his children attended school. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Bud was born March 28, 1929 in Rogersville, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Inga (Crawford) Perior. He and Bonnie Sue Brown were united in marriage July 1, 1950.
Bud owned and operated Perior Well Drilling for 40 years, retiring in 1992. Bud was a long time member of the Lion's Club and served 16 years on the Genesee Board of Education. He loved to build anything out of wood or metal; from kitchen cabinets, to violins, to a miniature replica of the Methodist Church in Genesee.
Bud leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Douglas (Cherie)Perior, Bud Perior Jr., Paul Perior, Keith (Mary) Perior, Inga Kellar, and Gloria Slattery (Shawn); 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; very special sister, Darlene Holsinger; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 57 years, Bonnie Sue; special brother-in-law, Ralph Holsinger; and in-laws, Pearl and Andrew Brown.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Lutheran Home-Frankenmuth, and the staff at Hospice of Hope-Frankenmuth. The care and touch provided to our father was exceptional. Our heartfelt thanks to all.
