Obituary of Frank R. Ramiller

Of Mt. Morris, age 83, died Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Fostrian Manor in Flushing. The funeral service will take place 1:00pm, Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Steven Makranyi will officiate with burial to follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Frank's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 4:00pm to 9:00pm, Wednesday, from 11:00am until time of service at 1:00pm. Frank was born September 28, 1927 in Williams, Minnesota the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Catherine (Trainor) Ramiller. At 17 he enlisted in the Maritime Service, where he served until 1947. He attended Bemidji State College in Bemidji, Minnesota. While there Frank helped establish and played on their first hockey team. In 1949, he came to Flint where he was employed at McDonald Dairy. He worked there for 17 years. He then worked at Buick for 23 years before retiring in 1989. He and Kathleen Olson were united in marriage June 21, 1949 in St. Michaels Catholic Church. Frank leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Kathleen, nine children; Charles (Wanda) Ramiller, John (Sandra) Ramiller, Teresa Becker (Larry) Buggia, Daniel Ramiller, Ruth Walker, Frank (Julie) Ramiller, Diane Markhan (Lee) Gardiner, Colleen (Larry) Snell and Robert (Tamara) Ramiller; 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sister, numerous nieces and nephews, infant son and twin daughters.
