Obituary of Elsie Diamond

Of Mt. Morris, age 89, died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Avalon Hospice. The funeral service will take place 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Steven Makranyi will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the Krapohl Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Elsie was born December 30, 1921 in Bay City, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George and Eva (Hall) Groulx. She and Lloyd Diamond were united in marriage January 5, 1946.
Elsie worked in Bay City at Chevrolet during World War II as a "Rosie the Riveter." She enjoyed bowling with Lloyd, and playing cards, as well as going to the casino.
Elsie leaves to cherish her memory, sons, James and wife, Maria Diamond, Fenton, MI and Tom Diamond, Mt. Morris, MI; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ellen Kinney, Drummond Island, MI and Mary Jane Groulx, Drummond Island, MI; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 55 years, Lloyd; and three brothers, Roy, Floyd, and George Groulx.
