Obituary of Richard Goodman

Of Genesee, age 75, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Genesys Hospice Care Center. The funeral service will take place 10:00am, Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the Mt. Morris Church of Christ. Morris. Mr. Garfield Cooper will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Rick's family will be present to receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 11:00am until 8:00pm. On Saturday, Rick will be taken to church to lie in state from 9:00am until time of service at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the Mt. Morris Church of Christ. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Richard "Rick" was born August 9, 1935 in Egypt, Arkansas the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Dolly (Simmons) Goodman. He and Rebecca Lamrock were united in marriage June 5, 1954. He worked for General Motors at the Truck and Bus Plant, as a truck driver until his retirement in 1991, a member of UAW Local #559 and a member of Mt. Morris Church of Christ. Left to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 57 years, Becky, son, Rickie Lee Goodman, grandson, Dylan Lee Goodman, three brothers; Don Goodman, Will and wife Charlene Simmons, Gerry and wife Bev Simmons and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
