Obituary of Attorney E. Joseph Gidcumb

Of Mt. Morris, age 55, died Thursday, December 12, 2013. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Joe's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please direct memorial contributions to the family for a college fund for his grandchildren. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Joe was born July 10, 1958, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Velma (Anderson) Gidcumb. He was a longtime Flint Attorney. Joe cherished his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing tennis and hockey, working, playing paintball, skeet shooting, photography and fishing. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved twin daughters, Sarah and Jodie; two grandchildren, Carly and Taylor; mother, Velma; two brothers, Bob (Marycatherine) and Dwayne; sister, Laurie (James) Green; nieces and nephews, Brianne, Kallie, Steve, Tucker, Keegan, Daniel and Cady; and good friend, Alan Kennedy. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Harry Gidcumb.
