Of Petoskey, formerly of Mt. Morris, age 91, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey. The funeral service will take place 1:30pm, Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Tuesday from 11:00am until time of service at 1:30pm. Evelyn was born February 1, 1920 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene and Mildred (Darby) Humphrey. She and Samuel King were united in marriage July 31, 1938 in Mt. Morris; he preceded her in death in 1984. Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory, son, Alan King, daughter-in-law, Dianna King, two grandchildren, Jennifer King and Jeaneen Brochu, and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Samuel, son, Charles, daughter-in-law, Linda, grandson, Eric King and grandson-in-law, Greg Brochu.
