Obituary of Janet K Ryan

age 64 of Akron died Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at BrianAaas House in Bay City. Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010, at 11:00am, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairgrove, Pastor Leonard Astrowski Jr. will officiate, with burial to follow in Hickory Island Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Fairgrove on Sunday, from 1:00pm to 8:00pm. On Monday, Janet will be taken to church where she will lie in state from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Memorial donations may be considered to the Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church Medical Fund. Janet was born June 19, 1945 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam and Agnes (Downey) Zelmer. She and Denny Ryan were united in marriage on August 31, 1968, in Reese. She worked as a health care provider for many years, retiring in 1998. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting, making jewelry, spending time with her grandchildren, and participating in Relay for Life. Janet was an active member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairgrove. Janet leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 41 years, Denny, three sons, Shawn and wife Angela Ryan, of St. Marys, Georgia, Denny Ryan II, of Caro, and Adam Ryan, of New Orleans, Louisiana, four grandchildren, Nuala Patricia, Devlin Beccan, Fineen Ailis, and Davin Christopher, brother Tom and wife Nancy Zelmer, sister Carol and husband Dennis Wireman, and brother Roger and wife Carrie Zelmer, and her very best friend, Joyce Faught, many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother.
