Although Aunt Dorothy wasn't "officially" related, as my mom Phyllis Wells' best friend, I also thought and called her my aunt. As was said by my sister, I enjoyed the trips with her and especially remember going to her house when I was little. It was so fun to play there with all the different toys and she never cared what we did. She was such a good cook and made you feel so loved. Recently her presence was thought about when we had to place our uncle, who she grew up with, in a nursing home. Since she was there at their church services and different activities, we knew it was easier for him to be there. He would chuckle when remarking about her laughter when they played games together and she was concerned till his death that he was sure of heaven. As said by others, she was our strong prayer warrior, remembering all of our family members. We would go there to cheer her and left realizing she'd cheered us and reminded us of God's blessings and faithfulness. She will be missed by all but is happy in the presence of our Lord and friends. \

I just heard about Dorothy's passing. I used to take care of her when she was still living at her home. She always enjoyed the hot cocoa I would bring her. We had a lot of great laughs. I will miss her. Brenda DuRussel

Some of my best memories of Aunt Dorothy were when we went on vacation! She always brought these special crackers and black cherries for snacks. When me made pit stops, she could never hurry and my Dad would pretend to get upset with her but we all just laughed!! Whether we had wet sleeping bags or cold nights, she never complained. We all enjoyed every minute with her. She was truly like a second mom to me and my loss is great. We counted so much on her prayers and I know that she and my mom are together again.

I'll never forget my aunt's laugh! She had the most contagious smile and could always brighten your day. What a wonderful prayer warrior she was. I truly felt her prayers for me and our family and that covering that she gave to us will be greatly missed. Truly her crown is great in Heaven!!

Aunt Dorothy was always my "aunt" until I found out in high school that we truly were not related. She and my grandmother, Phyllis Glady-Wells, were so close that everyone assumed Dorothy was part of our family. I will always remember listening to records at her house while waiting for some meal to be prepared. I will cherish her in my heart as my Aunt Dorothy forever.

I first met Dorothy in 2005, when my mother became a resident at the Lutheran Home & I began to volunteer for chapel services on Fridays. She fast became a very dear friend. Such a wonderful lady with a positive attitude always! I happened to find out that she LOVED Norm's Sharp (had to be "just sharp", not extra) Cheese. On occasion, I'd bring her some all cut up into bite size pieces - I couldn't believe the JOY it brought to her. She thanked me with tears in her eyes. Our last visit was a couple of Fridays ago. I am so thankful to have met Dorothy - what an inspiration to so many people. I will miss her, but I am rejoicing with her & her family, because she is with Our Lord, whom she loved dearly.\
Sincerely,\
Kathy Zehnder
