Of Mt. Morris, age 87, died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Alonzo Vincent will officiate with burial to follow in Mt. Morris Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 12:00noon until 8:00 pm, and then on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm. Those desiring, may direct memorial contributions to the Krapohl Senior Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Isabelle was born June 27, 1924 in Vassar, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Delores (Adams) Martin. She and Eugene Lawrence were united in marriage August 5, 1944.
Isabelle was a lifetime member of the Mt. Morris First United Methodist Church. In her free time, she enjoyed playing games, including cards and Bingo. Also, for over 30 years, she worked in the kitchen, called "Bingo," and made greeting cards for the Krapohl Center--amongst getting many other things done whenever possible.
Isabelle leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Roger and wife, Eileen, William and wife, Violet, and Timothy and wife, Kimberly; one daughter, Diana and husband, Pastor Larry Fouts; fourteen grandchildren; Billy, Sonny, Marci, Tisha, Tasha, Joshua, Jesse, Martin, Crystal, Michael, Jenna, Amberly, Karie, and Katie; twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers, Julius and wife, Roberta Martin, Edward Martin, and Wesley and wife, Wanda Martin; four sisters, Rosa Putman, Emma Jean Hill, Gerry and husband, Don Springstein, and Mary and husband, Roger Starkling; special friend, Bessie Ford; and many nieces, nephews, and friends from the Krapohl Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 45 years, Eugene; sons, Jack and Todd; two grandchildren, Roger and Stacy Jo; sisters, Ellamae and Marjorie; and brothers, Albert, Lawrence, and Morris.
