Obituary of Marguerite M Chesney

Of Davison, formerly of Vassar, age 91, died Sunday, October 2, 2011 with family. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the Martin Funeral Home -Vassar. Pastor Mary Edgington will officiate with burial to follow in New Bayport Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Thursday from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Marguerite was born September 7, 1920 in Winsor Township, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Mary (Rehbein) Roeber. She and John Henry Chesney were united in marriage on September 4, 1937 in East Lansing, Michigan. He preceded her in death in 1989. Marguerite enjoyed taking care of her family, playing cards, bowling, and puzzles. Left to cherish her memory are four children, Genevieve Grubaugh, Darold and wife Nancy Chesney, Brenda Campbell, and Randy and wife Dottie Chesney; six grandchildren, Chris Gardy, Terry Gardy, John Chesney, Jeffrey Chesney, Tamara Lee and Deon Campbell; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Irene and husband George Gardy; brother, George and wife Virgina Roeber; sister-in-law, Zola Roeber; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Henry; sister, Leona Roeber; and two brothers, Albert Roeber and Arthur Roeber.
